(I need some) New Shoes

Hello, I apologise for the fact that this post took so long to do - I started it like two months ago! I'm still trying to work out what looks good/bad on photoshop and, as you can see from my efforts below, I've not quite perfected it... yet! Anyway, on with the post...

New shoes? I NEED SOME! My loafers are on its last legs although I've only had them since January. River Island's shoes seem to be pretty bad quality in general... sad times! But their shoes are really nice! I bagged mine in the January sales for £15 from £30 and I've worn them almost every time I've gone out since because I'm too lazy to tie the laces on my Converse... maybe they have fared pretty well? I'm not sure of the typical life expectancy of shoes.

Aaanyway, I've been looking for a replacement and I'm not sure what to go for? I'm struggling to find a nice pair of loafers as they aren't really popular at the moment. On the other hand, the flatform trend has interested me greatly. They're like an easy way to get the feel of Creepers without the chunkyness that probably won't suit everyone? I think I stand a better chance with flatforms although I've not actually tried a pair on yet so I'm unsure as to whether they will suit me or not; they probably will? I'm not very tall you see...

I'm also thinking that I should just go for some winter boots but I'm incredibly fussy about boots. SO FUSSY.

Anyway, I present to you a couple of nice lookin' shoes:

Dune Patent Leather Loafers
These are incredibly old-lady-like but I love them! I have a weakness for loafers; they're funkier than the standard flat ballet shoes but they still go with most things (especially dresses)!

Minnetonka Feather Kilty Moccasin
Is it me or have the prices gone up quite a bit...? I've wanted a pair ever since I watched this guide to all things Moccasin! (You should totally check out her other videos - I love her diys!) They don't seem all that ideal for winter and the WET WET WET weather here in the UK but I'd love a pair regardless!

Boohoo Suedette Flatforms
These flatforms are sosososo similar to the Jeffrey Campbell Beebee shoes and although they're probably not of the same standard, they're pretty good if you're looking for a cheaper alternative. I like these because they're both simple and statement. The height is subtle yet still makes a difference, and the shoe itself is black and simple so it goes with pretty much anything.

Office Leather Boots
I THINK THESE BOOTS ARE 'THE ONE'! I'm not a fan of smooth, shiny boots; I'm much more of a fan of rustic-looking worn boots... such as these! They're simple and can be worn with absolutely anything. As you can see they come in Brown and Black (with studs). There's also a plain black version but I'm not so into that. However at £85, I've got me some saving to do...

Dr Martens 1460 Boot
I've been thinking about Dr Martens a lot recently. I've seen a beautiful pair of floral print ones that I cannot find online anywhere! I suspect that they are out of production.

Anyway, the 1460 Boot is a classic that you can't really go wrong with. I thought that I'd probably go with the standard black boots because if I'm going to splurge then I might as well get a pair that goes with everything. BUT I was looking on the website and came across a new design - it's black with small flowers printed all over. It adds a nice bit of detail - I love the subtlety.

Thank you very much for reading!

Have you got your winter footwear sorted yet?  Do you have any of the shoes mentioned?
Let me know in the comments below, I'd love a chat!

I won a giveaway: Orange Circle Clothing

A few weeks ago, I entered this giveaway hosted by the lovely Kimberley over at Sweet Monday, the prize of which was provided by Orange Circle, and I won! The prize itself was a choice of any t-shirt from their wide selection. Orange Circle seriously do have an infinite number of choices. It feels like they add more designs every day! The designs are pretty cool and I think there's something there for everyone since there's so much variety. I had serious trouble deciding on a t-shirt but in the end I picked this one:

The design isn't for everyone but I like it!
I'm actually writing this post from Mallorca! I'm staying for 10 days so I don't think I'll be able to get in another post before I return. I've been here for three days and it's been lovely so far; there's a Westlife tribute act playing as we speak...

Talk soon!

Colour Inspiration: Mint

Recently, I've been overcome by an attraction for the colour mint. IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL. New favourite colour? I think so. It's such a nice, pastel colour and although it is admittedly hard to incorporate into your wardrobe (or is it just me that struggles?), it's guaranteed to add a touch of summer to your outfit.
Sooo I've been browsing through a load of online websites in seach for some mint pieces and I found some
lovely things. I've noticed that Topshop had the most things by far! Other shops, please step up your game!

Dasha Dress//Nail Polish//Wedges//Embellished Dress//Skirt//Jeans//

Both of the dresses are beautiful. I'm thinking about going for a mint dress for my prom next year, but that's a long way away so who knows what I'll end up deciding on? I think shoes and nails are nice ways of brightening up your look without wearing too much mint. It's also especially good if you're afraid to wear new colours! But to be honest, I say go for it! It's a lovely summery colour that, in my opinion, suits a lot of skin tones.

SO MUCH STUFF! I think my favourite are the wedges, they're perfect for a sunny holiday! You could pair them with shorts and a vest, a maxi dress or a knee length dress. They'd suit both formal and informal occasions because mint is such a soft colour but is also quite colourful.

So there you have it - a few things that I've come across online in my current favourite colour!
Are you as much of a fan of mint as I am?
Are there any colours you seem to be drifting to lately?

Hope you enjoyed the post, let me know if you enjoy this format!

10 Things: Favourite Bands

I love it when the blogger behind the blog shows you who they are and what sort of person they are. Obviously I'm the bloggy sort, but apart from that - what do you really know about me? I think the music you like says a lot about you, but not in the stereotypical assumptions type of way. I'm not very good at listening to music in the sense that I'm not devoted to particular artists. I come across one song, like it, and move on - totally forgetting who they are and what the song is called. Nevertheless, I've manage to compile a list of my favourite bands. I hope you enjoy :)

P.S I am terrible at describing music, BARE WITH!

#1 Bombay Bicycle Club

Bombay Bicycle are such a lovely band. Their music is pretty easy listening although there is a mixture of upbeat and melancholy songs. I love all their songs but if you've not heard any of their stuff before, I'd recommend 'Shuffle'.

#2 Florence + The Machine

Florence Welch is without a doubt an ultimate BABE! Her voice is so unique and powerful and her songs are just beautiful. I'm currently listening to the MTV presents unplugged: Florence + The Machine album which you can find on spotify here. She's also made a music video for Breaking Down!

#3 Lost Lander

I discovered Lost Lander through vlogger Abby Williamson and this video right here. (HOW COOL IS THAT ALBUM THINGY-MA-JIGGY?) The band are pretty cool, have a listen of their album for free here!

#4 Noah and The Whale
L-I-F-E-G-O-E-S-O-N! Need I say more? They're cool.

#5 The Black Keys

The Black Keys are a duo and DAMN THEY'RE GOOD. They're pretty rocky. My favourite song is probably Lonely Boy, the video of which makes me laugh. He's got the moves.

#6 The Naked And Famous

It's hard to describe their sound... a female version of MGMT maybe? They're so underrated! Their live version of 'Girls Like You' is pretty darn good.

#7 The Vaccines

The Vaccines are an British indie rock band and they are just unreal. Justin's voice is beauts. They recently-ish released a new single titled 'No Hope', which is (of course) divine. 'Post Break-Up Sex' is still my favourite though.

#8 Spector

Spector are so cool. Like The Vaccines, they are a British indie rock band and they are truly amazing. They're releasing an album called 'Enjoy It While It Lasts', the trailer of which you can watch here. I am so looking forward to it!

#9 Two Door Cinema Club

Have you heard of Two Door Cinema Club? Legend has it is that they're brilliant. This acoustic video of 'Something Good Can Work' was what got me loving them.

#10 Young The Giant

YTG♥ You may have heard of them through their song 'Cough Syrup' being covered by Blaine on Glee (that was such an emotional episode!) They're basically amazing, I really really really would love to see them live! Their acoustic sessions are unbelievable too! Strings is a good 'un.
